    Hell, that's easy, I run automotive, and that is the issue. Parts are not getting delivered and sitting on docks, as everyone is now sitting at the truck stop, or Walmart out of or short on hours.

    These brain surgeons are now double and triple ordering trucks to hope they get at least one to show up. We show up, but like last night a once 30 minute turn and burn at the dock turned into a four hour affair, they ordered ten trucks. This caused me to blow through my 14 and finding myself at that Lowes around the corner... I had a pick up at 0500 that following morning at the same GM plant in Marion IN, which I could have easily made, but wound up legally getting back there at 0730 for the load... Then the race was on! Delivered that to Fort Wayne Assembly, hauled tail to Defiance OH, and sat for three hours as the engine heads at the GM casting plant were not ready until 1300... Grabbed those, and the race was on to get to Saginaw to ALFE Heat Treat before 1700... I rolled in at 1650 and delivered. Then to the house where I am now sipping on a Heineikin. I miss my flatbed. ;-)

    Yes, it did, and does quite often. Not every trucking job is nine to five, must be nice.

    This is true, but seeing as how unless im delivering at a Lowe's, or a Wal-Mart with an oversize load he's got far more parking options than I do, and I don't have run up to the very last minute of my logs. I have a plan made up at the last 3 hours to be pulled off within the final hour

    Spot on. I was down there in Marion, that Flying J, the new one, was full at 1700 and a line of trucks waiting to get in. The Loves across 69, forget it. Two distribution centers, Walmart and Dollar General... Not going there... I watched one guy rip out twenty yards of sod, I got the hell out of there.
