Do your OWN research. I live in California and Been trucking in California since 1979. I know what lanes to be in. They should of told you in trucking school or your trainers should of told you also. I may sound sarcastic, but it’s a fact. I get tired of prime trucks running so slow and driving slow in the passing lane. And going up the passes with there 4 ways on in the middle lane.

Prime doesn't condone it, but they won't do anything about it until it starts costing them money. Nothing will change until they start getting tickets for it. I hate passing on the right even when it's legal in CA. And another thing... Prime trucks are terribly broken. No reason a truck specked @455 hp and at least 1650 tq should be climbing a steep grade at 23-27mph. Their stuff is broken and they don't even know it!Diesel Dave Thanks this. -

Climbing a steep grade at 25+- mph isn't saving any fuel when it takes twice as long to climb the pass, it has quite the opposite effect. -

I guess if my truck was broken, then Detroit diesel is nothing but a bunch of liars when they put my truck up on the dyno and it showed it was all in spec for my engine. But what do i know?TheRealPorkChopExpress Thanks this. -

Four out of Five Prime trucks I've driven have done that, It's a big problem.
I'v been through a few Dyno tests as well and that was an exercise in frustration. The truck would be running really turdy and I'd get it into a shop with a dyno so they could run it only to find nothing wrong. "it pulls hard", "it's doing 98% of spec", Huh? I did take it into a FL shop without a dyno once, we hooked up a heavy test trailer and went for a drive in the hills. The truck pulled great, night and day difference to what it was when I brought it in. If it was running that good I wouldn't have brought it in. Now I look like a fool... That was the fifth time I took a truck in only to find "nothing wrong".
Something happens when they hook up to the diagnostic port. Maybe it completes a missing ground or something of the like. I've been complaining of quirky onguard and cruise behavior, even the stability controll is out of whack at times and overly sensitive. Went for a drive with a tec from the Prime shop to realign the onguard and guess what happened? All the quirky behavior was gone while his laptop was hooked up to the diagnostic port. It's really odd and frustrating to deal with a problem like this.
Ok, so lets ask them to test it without hooking up to the diagnostic port! Surely progress will be made this time... Nope. One the fourth time, _fourth time_, of bringing the truck in to FL and telling them not to hook up to the diagnostic port for the test I had repeated myself 8 times saying "don't hook it up to the diagnostic port for the test, it won't show any problem". What do they do? Hook up to the diagnostic port and take it for a test drive.... Seriously, how can people be so deliberately obtuse? They don't want to try and fix anything hard, they just want the easy money for the least amount of effort. The third time I took it in I repeated myself 5 times not to hook it up to the diagnostic port... It's going to be a while before this problem gets fixed unless someone pulls their head up off the pillow.
