Hello fellow drivers. I use to be a former O.T.R. driver of Via Logistics.
    1. Via Logistics hire company over the road driver under 1099 tax forms and not W2 tax forms.
1099 tax forms are for Self Employed / Owner Operator . W2 tax forms are for hiring employees.
    2. Via Logistics will pay .60 cent per mile . Its just to pull you in!
    3. They want YOU to pay for repairs on their trucks! Only Owner operators are suppose to pay for repairs
    on their own personalized trucks!
    4. They will take out $250.00 per week from your check. So thats $250.00 times 4 = $1,000.00!
    5. No Benefits, No Disability, No Workman Compensation
    6. No Night time Dispatch!
    7. If you like Riding around the U.S. on a Truck with NO MONEY?????!!!! This is the Company for You!

And all the howls of Owner Operators unable to do anything at .85 and essentially shoving .60 onto the backs of stupid people (Not necessarily you... smart enough to get out minus the snarled tax year trying to figure the actual revenue to that stupid truck...)

There has to be some kind of whistle blowing open for the IRS, this is blatant tax evasion if you ask me.

    Western flyer Thanks this.

You hired on with a company and the very first thing before you hired on was they are running illegal by doing a 1099 and treating the driver as an employee, not an IC.
What in the world makes one think they will be an ethical company to work for?
