That was from fuel guages from Kevin Rutherford's website letstruck.com

You can do it in excel. I'd make four columns:

    Date......Odometer......Fuel......MPG

You'd manually enter data for the first 3 columns and then use a formula to calculate mpg: (odometer2-odometer1)/fuel2

You could then have excel make graphs of date vs mpg or odometer vs mpg

Guilty as charged (when I was at S***). Now I'm governed at 65 and only run 63 if I'm deadheading and 59 if I'm loaded.

The BEST value? I discovered from the mistakes I made (am still making) in my youth that any positive value at all would have been preferable to the giant crater I'm digging myself out of right now.

Maybe we should stop replenishing their state and see how long it takes for them to have an attitude change.

I wonder where you’d find a scalable labor pool of entry-level truck drivers with good credit who don’t want to start their own business?

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

Why would he want to hire entry level drivers? The only thing riskier than an entry level driver is an experienced driver with a terrible track record.

Lepton1, Feedman, BoostedTeg and 3 others Thank this.

Touchee...but then, wouldn’t such a group (experienced drivers with good credit and no entrepreneurial aspirations) be even harder to find?

To be fair, the drivers that lease are high risk. They can't scrape together enough cash for a down payment to purchase a truck outright, nor is their credit good enough to qualify for financing on a truck. So yes, those irresponsible individuals whose only option to 'own' their truck is to lease, deserve what they get, and Rob Low absolutely must charge them a premium in order to protect his own interests. They're not even smart enough to realize that they'd make more money as a company driver.

And that is why many of us that have owned more than 1 truck now own 1 and only 1. The quality of the driver pool is very very poor. Everyone id want to hire either has a great job i can't compete with, or owns their own truck.

If they had NO Entrepreneurial aspirations then they would never have purchased or looked into purchasing a truck.

An experienced driver with a good credit score would just be less financially reckless than your typical mega lease op. And less apt to be whining about their challenges on the forums. You will rarely hear about success out here cause successful folks are working. Most folks will only roll out the sob stories when they are failing.

If I could get Rollin to fend off the gov't, act as collections department, and coach me to be a success.... I would gladly let him keep a healthy percentage of my booked freight.
