In my last job as custodian the union kept the boss from exposing us to harsh chemicals and carcinogens. Some unions are not yet money grubbing corrupt ppl

So they moved union jobs south and the union was voted out, big difference albeit the same result.

 

You don't need a union for that. There are countless State and Federal agencies that one can call. Most can even be contacted anonymously. Also, some jobs handling dangerous chemicals is a requirement for said job. If you don't like it leave. Unions, and their Socialist agenda destroy companies. This in turn destroys employment opportunities and their surrounding communities in the long run.

It is a myth that increasing wages, or even forming a union, drives up the price of goods and makes the worker poorer. This false framework is provided just keep the less smart worker in their place.

 

You had all the choice one could ask for - you knew when you applied it was a Union shop. No one forced you to apply or even work there. You applied for the job because you liked the wages and benefits the Union provided. Quit being the false victim.

 

First, it's not no cost to me. I am giving up monetary compensation for compensation in kind.


Ever try buying insurance on the open market before Obamacare? Or after? Health plans are one size fits all because they're primarily designed for mid size and large corporations. How many small business are not starred or fail because of healthcare costs? Company provided healthcare has skewed/eliminated the free market.

Do I get a say if the company changes providers? Do I get to pick coverage that includes the doctors I prefer? The company controls all of that.

It's also not a real option to decline. If I decline company health care the company does not pay me any more.
