I have a Cat C15 serial prefix of MXS. What C15 do I have?

It's in an '05 Peter 379X. C15 prefix of MXS with VVA. I've read several threads here about the C15's many configurations that are always referred to by the prefix. I also recall one of them being referred to as a "bridge" model C15, though I doubt the MXS is that.
So what do I have here? A good model with some of the bugs worked out of the ACERT, or better yet, maybe prior to the intake valve thing? Was told current setting is 550hp.
Truck has been ran.1.9 mill so far. Has never had a major, but has had rod and main bearings and every year the usual overhead and inspection. Says it burns a gallon every 10k. Blow by is virtually non-existant. The rest of this trucks life will be mainly bobtail or a small gooseneck rv.

Just looking for any info you care to share as to what "normal" issues come up, or,....the good things about it would be nice to hear too.
    Thanks.

    MXS is an Acert.
    MBN is the bridge engine.
6NZ is one of the best.
    SDP are junk.

    Oxbow and SAR Thank this.

Not entirely sure. 6NZ was the earliest of the group I listed, followed by MBN. SDP was the last (newest) one IIRC.

    Oxbow Thanks this.

BSX's were the first Acerts, before the MXS and NXS. The MXS and NXS were pretty much the same. The BXS's had very different IVA setups though.

Keep an eye on your turbo studs. For as bad a rap as these motors get that's really the only issue I have experienced with the one I have.

Oxbow, Deezl Smoke and SAR Thank this.

BXS is easiest/cheapest to convert back to single turbo.

So if I understand correctly, the IVA and VVA are basically the same thing. But the VVA might be an improved version?

The bxs had add on vva's the mxs, nxs were one pc housings for the jake and vva's. The weak points. hold down studs for the vva/jakes, turbo studs for top turbo, harness for the precooler, high comp pistons= premature headgasket failure.
