    Hey Guys,

I'm new to the forum, and wanted to get some opinions. I own a small fleet in NJ (35 trucks) looking to grow my business through OOs. I have dedicated runs out to Eastern OH (Zanesville area) and back to NJ. The shippers in OH are all drop and pick, and the delivery on the NJ end is drop.
The loads out are mostly Broker, but I help OOs by picking them up FOR THEM with my local guys, bringing them back to my yard, then the OO comes in and runs the load out of my yard.
The round is about 950 miles, without going into too many details I'm paying $1,750 gross. Or about 1.84 per mile.
I'm getting some interest, but I need more!
Is this a fair wage for this kind of run?

Thanks Guys! I hope to be an active member of this community. I've been lurking for a while and theres a ton of valuable information for company owners.

The freight out to OH can vary. The freight from OH back to NJ is either Beauty products (Light 30-35k)
    Or Soap (Heavy, 42-44k)
You can run I80. It'll add 50 miles to the trip. Or run 78 to Carlisle then 76(toll road) the rest of the way.

To be honest that's kinda low.

My dad gets 1100 ttt to run a load of empty cans from Binghamton ny to jersey city.

If I paid OOs this much money my profit margin would be -$400 per round approximately.

Your trailer your insurance,75% drop and hook freight and you pay the tolls.
$1750 doesnt sound too bad imo

Well the load picks up 30 min from the house. He deadheads back empty most of the time. The rate he gets going in is good enough not to screw around trying to find something back here. He doesn't do this load everyday, most of the time 1-2 times a week although hed love to do it 5 days a week. It only weighs 7k

Yes, My trailer, My insurance. 75% drop and hook, but they are supposed to pay the tolls out of the $1750. Maybe If I bump it another 100 for toll reimbursement it will look more appealing?
