I have a W900 that has 6 volts coming through the tail lights of the trailer. I have traced it back to the twist connector behind the cab that adapts to the trailer plug. When I get to this plug there is continuity between pins. The plug is clean with no corrosion. Is there somewhere the voltage the voltage can be leaking from?

Do you have 12 Volts at that plug?

9 volts at each signal wire until you activate the signal then it flashes to 12 volts but does not drop below 9 voltd. it should be at and drop to 0

What year of truck is it?
On the newer trucks where the lights are controlled by computers it is common to see odd voltages where you shouldn't. A multimeter may read 9 volts because they are very sensitive, but the minute you put a load to it there is nothing there. It is better to use an old school bulb type test light when checking 12V wiring as the test light actually loads the wire to see if it can hold any amps. What issues are you chasing?
