From the research I did on Melton, they wouldn't be a bad choice either.

    Do you drive too?

My company just allows me to idle. I admit, they aren’t the smartest. Same reason to not suggest them to you. I’d rather idle than to have that opti idle gizmo thingamabob.
I’ve discovered I seriously need air back in the bunk. Air movement extremely important. Always slept at the house with window open, fan on. Or air cleaner moving air in winter. If air not moving. I get claustaphobic in my sleep. Wake up with nightmares. I love sleeping in my bunk with the air moving back there. More comfortable than at LaQuinta.
Now the only thing for me to work out is; Making it clear to my cat that the bed is mine, not her’s. So far her answer is to lay on my head.
Might consider Magnum. With all bonuses, they pay 55 cents a mile. No problem with 2500 miles a week. They are extremely honest.
You’re worried about making money? Why don’t you drive, teaming with your husband? You’ll have money coming out the ying yang...:)
BTW: Another thread suggested that Crete and Shaffer are one in the same?

Let's see here.... SAME COMPANY ...Shaffer-Reefer (lots of live-load, live un-load) versus Crete-Dry (More d/h and 3 cpm less). Lets take for instance Walmart DC's, reefer is live unload, Dry van is d/h and on your way.... EASY CHOICE !

We don’t think we want to go with Shaffer or Crete at this time. I (cause I’m sure he doesn’t care) just can’t stand the idea of no APU. And happy wife = happy life! :D We might give Heyl, and Freymiller a call to see what their benefits are and CPM.

@WesternPlains I’m a terrible driver, you don’t want me behind the wheel of a Semi LOL!

Melton is not an option. They have a 3 heartbeat rule so you'd only be allowed a single pet. I know a team driving for them and they swap dogs during home time.

You're in luck. I've driven for Shaffer, Crete, and Heyl. Much lower income @ Heyl, about 10k per year less than Crete and Shaffer. Crete and Shaffer net almost identical. $50k and Apu @ Heyl or $60k and opti-idle @ Crete or Shaffer. Plus you can strong arm Crete and Shaffer to switch divisions if you want to switch from one to the other. Best overall quality of life for me was @ Crete.
