Trust me, they are, and very costly. I am afraid to calculate all of the monies this particular system on my truck has cost in parts, repairs and lost revenue. I believe it would be close to two years net income, if not more. But, the truck is paid for and there are only a few more maintenance items left. Putting mine together right now in the driveway, second day of good weather in two weeks I have been down.

    Intothesunset and 4noReason Thank this.

When I bought this truck I had one Kobalt all in one tool set, never needed any more tools than that for my last seven trucks. Sure, things would break, but it was usually little things that I would just run into the local mom and pop shop. They would do a PM, look for anything else that may be coming along and fix it. Not a big deal.

This truck! Oye! I have three chests of tools, diagnostic equipment, speciality tools from Cummins, weird stuff I have never seen that is needed to keep this pos on the road... And more torque wrenches than you can shake a stick at. And I use every bit of it. Give me an overhead or a gantry crane to remove the head, I bet I could in frame the darn thing right here in my driveway. ;-)

I know two blown engines because of plastic oil suction manifold. The glued cup comes out and if you won't stop the engine within 2-3 seconds it will be damaged.

I would sell it for junk and go see if Schneider is selling any more gliders. I bought one and it’s a money maker. Cheapest to fix and 7-8 mpg

I saw a video of a fellow on YouTube that shows a lot of DD15 stuff. He did the o’rings on those two tubes accessed with the oil pan off. When I saw that plastic oil pickup I almost fell on the floor.
That is some engineering to use plastic in such a hot environment.

Yup, has been for many years now. The series 60 was a Penske design. The DD series is a Mercedes design.
