I’m a local driver... for the most part. I had a run yesterday
out of my “circle”. I went to paper and got it done. I unloaded in Coudersport, Pa. on my may back I was going to stop as I was technically out of time.
Emlenton full
Barkeyville full
Pilot at the 99 didn’t even bother checking. the little stop south of there on 19 might have had something
All rest areas full and overflowing. On truck was within a few feet of 80 with his 4ways on.
So when on your elogs how far do drive and just say “screw it!” hit the 4ways and park
ELDs are going to get people hurt/killed

As a driver, you basically get two options. Violate HOS, or stop somewhere and be in the way. Either way, it's because you didn't plan properly. Can't win. I'm not worried about that scenario, but only because I make my own schedule and deliberately start the day at 0300 so I'm parked by 1500, zero stress. On delivery days though, it's out of my hands, and when the customer is done lolly gagging, I get dumped out on the street weather I've got hours left or not. Sometimes those days get tricky enough, on AOBRDs where I have exactly 5 minutes or 1.5 miles to roll somewhere and not be in the way. This 5mph automatic trigger would make it necessary to do allot more preemptive planning. highly annoying. I'm an adult dahmiht.

Every single post I read about the “problem” with ELDs isn’t really an eld problem. It’s an HOS problem. ELDs are just highlighting how out of wack the HOS are with the way the industry works.

There's no denying ELD's have caused drivers to take risks/ drive faster tailgate more etc since implementation. That box ticking ticking down, the dispatcher threatening to fire the driver, the driver trying to feed their kids..... so much pressure ELD's add. Check out the driver in the video, taking risks to race to and through the weigh station zone because the ELD box is whipping him like a stagecoach driver being chased by wild indians.

That's how you put boring stuff on YouTubemisterG and spyder7723 Thank this. -
I watched your boring and stupid video. I have come to the conclusion you don’t know how Arizona weigh in motion, ADOT, nor prepass operate.
He didn’t do anything wrong. He was in the proper lane when he needed to be. He probably had a prepass and got the bypass. Your prepass tripped. There was no “confusion”. There was nothing “unfair” as you put it.
Why don’t you concentrate on doing YOUR job for a change, instead of worrying about everyone else?
I would have passed you too.Last edited: Mar 21, 2018

Once you have a truck with running water you don't care where you spend the night, tho i refuse to park on ramps. Thats an accident waiting to happen.Last edited: Mar 21, 2018

most of the idiots have been on elogs for years at their mega fleet, Their driving habits won’t change, myself on the other hand I have speed up throughout the day trying to make time that I used to not worry about. And no fellows I’m not a mega wheel holder or a fed ex idiot , I don’t speed thru towns, school zones, construction zones, truck stops etc, I just run the speed limit on the bid roads.. I do wish all you boys would stop repeating that elog salesman when he said they were gonna make us rich and the roads safer, I’m sure I’m not the only one running the speed limit and find them self rushing throughout the day to get work done and squeeze the most revenue possible out of the crazy hos we have..
