I have been driving for 6yrs now and been through a few companies, big and small. I am now with Butler and folks it is home here. What I mean by home is comfort, we all desire certain things to be happy in any relationship, me...peace...I am a grown man and need no one holding my hand and telling me how to perform my job. Butler does not bother me until I bother them and I LOVE that. I have spoke to my DM twice in 3 months, No sitting,No designated fuel stop, no designated route, no one sitting behind a desk telling you to run your hours out or asking you why did you stop, and recaps...yeeeeesss, true there are those of us that need our hands held and I'm sure there are a few here at Butler, but I want to thank them for trusting in me...my only gripe is I have yet to hit the West Coast...

No fun being babysat. Same at the outfit I am leased on with. Go do your job, call if there are issues. In over three years, not even a pay discrepancy, and have never spoken with anyone in safety. I know the feeling. ;-)

No micromanaging / hand holding b.s.

That’s what I like about where I am. They do tell us where to fuel and the routing, but I don’t have to adhere to the routing.

In fact, I just took a load to Tampa from Denver and got a reload going to the same place in Denver.

My routing going back was completely different so I called and said I’d prefer to go back the way I came. “No problem, I’ll change your fuel stop and you can go the way you want”.

The thing is, it’s a program that does that routing. Sometimes it just does goofy crap. But again, they don’t care if I follow it or not so long as I’m not doing something stupid like adding 500 miles.
