Thanks for all the great info everyone. I'm still waiting on my on my DAC report. I'm thinking that since Crete is a preferred carrier to drive for along with a bunch of applications from prospect drivers that they are being VERY picky on who they are hiring. This whole thing just sounds like they are just sending out all these generic letters no matter what is on the DAC report to everyone they decline. I'll keep yall posted when I get my DAC.

The sad thing is that too many HR people no longer wish to look at anything more than the bare minimum necessary. They want the application, with all the blanks filled out.

If you submit a resume, it needs to be ONE PAGE ONLY. Anything more than this, is too often considered to be "extemporaneous bull schidt" and won't even be looked at.

You know this is wrong, and I know this is wrong. But unfortunately, it is often the way it is.

The other thing is that in today's work place there are too many college degrees with no common sense. And a lot of these folks actually do feel "threatened" when faced with the possibility that they may employ an intelligent, experienced individual.

I had the extreme misfortune to spend eight years working for a supervisor who was terribly insecure. He should not have been in his job, and he knew it.

Sort of makes life tough on everyone.:biggrin_2552:

hey im real old school i learned at the school of hard knocks so im really in the dark on this one
    1. what the heck is DAC?
    2. and what the heck is USIS?
    #### BIG DON we must have the same guy where work at, ive been doing this gig for many years and know the job insisde out and the super doesnt know #### from shinola, terribly insecure, his method of of supervising is questionable at best. "Hey Jerry you watch jim and let me know what he's doing. Hey Jim watch jerry and let me know what he's doing" All that does is undermine moral and turn the crew into a bunch of back stabbers.
Its so easy to get guys to work togther as a team a common goal.
What ever happend to leading by example? Dont ask a guy to do something that you are not willing to do yourself

    October Guy,

The DAC (Driver-A-Check) is a report on all your driving being commercial and POV's. It's not unusual for negatives to placed on this report that has nothing to do with you. USIS the agency that is mostly used is in my account, the most irresponsible bunch you will ever deal with. I got it first hand of how they report; They type in the first 3 letters of your name and what comes up is what's reported. A person with the same name and birth date as you with a bad record (Including Criminal) can and probably will be reported against you. If they varified the name with an SS# (Which they have) this wouldn't be a problem, but they don't and I know first hand because I'm going through it as we speak, and getting it corrected... I think I might need an act of Congress.

    Good Luck,
    Merry Christmas! Happy New Year!

oh ok, in california we just call it a dmv print out, it just shows if you get a lot of tickets , driving history for the past 5 years, points on your record etc. Now the H5 is the BIG MOMA! that tells your entire driving history since you were 15-16 years old if you had a CDL or not.
The USIS sounds like a scam or something to me .........the 1st 3 letters of your name?? and NO social securtiy # ????? wtf is that about?
what states do they do this nonsense in?

That is very interesting because my dad and I share the same name except the middle name. My middle name is Kyle and his is Lance. Maybe that is the whole issue because my dad has had tickets in the last 2 years. I just wish that freaking DAC report would show up already!

Oh, a side note that grant did not work out for me so I am currently saving up to attend a CDL school here in town. For $3,012 I get 160 hrs of training, the test, drug test and physical. All the companies I have talked to said that school was ok with them. I have been in contact with TMC and Conway.

yep $3-4k sounds about like the right screwin' numbers....guess thats what u gotta pay, i did to. Ask the school if you'll be getting "observation time" in that 160 hrs., or if it's always just you and a teacher when your aquiring drive time. They'll like that.
