Yes I have heard the U.S. Navy ships when they cook fried chicken, they dump the thousands of gallons of vegetable oil overboard right into the ocean.

Even in remote parts of the ocean you can see stuff floating or just below the surface. One time we saw a huge something on the horizon. The CO took the ship over to investigate and it was a huge steel storage tank about half as big as the frigate we were on. Left it alone and went on our way because didn't know what might be inside if we fired at it.scottied67 Thanks this. -
