Ok I just talked to what I thought was still a current Sanger driver. And it's just sad to see and here of ppl leaving there like that. But I have seen this before.

We lost three drivers to WM about fifteen years ago. Can't blame them for leaving, at that time WM was the job to have.
Two of them have dropped by recently to see if we're hiring. They're still hanging in with WM but they both said it's turning into a really bad job. Neither of them have quite enough time to retire and they're both in hock for new cars and homes that they bought when the money was flowing in like water.
WM really showed everybody how much they really care about their drivers..."Do more for less and if you don't like it, theres the door. We have less expensive people waiting to take your job".
WM drivers used to be a pretty cheerful bunch but every one I see now looks worried...and angry.

WalMart USED to be something to aspire to, and you had to know somebody, and someone had to die before you could get in.
Now they are no better than swift. Maybe worse. I know the drivers they employ are no longer the top hands they used to be. No disrespect intended to the OP or any of the other old hands still trying to hang on.

I had a really good friend outright quit today from our office. He didn't want to, but did quit saying that he'd had enough. This is a very, patient even tempered guy. Walmart did however officially list him as retired. WM drivers used to never quit, but as I'm sadly finding out every day, this is becoming an epidemic. I'm just hoping to hang on.

I have more Walmart drivers nowadays cutting me off and tail gating me than ever before... So yes they're just as bad as swift a lot of them if not worse... Walmart Drivers used to be the cream of the crop... Are there still good drivers over there yes I'm sure there are but most of these guys Walmart hires now are no different than the Mega Carrier drivers...

Why do I get the feeling that the high profile crash a few years ago in New Jersey was when Walmart top brass said "screw it. We can eliminate a lot of liability and save billions each year by doing away with the private fleet"?
