Anybody else see this proposal? Would make it nice, but I doubt it will come to be.

What exactly are they looking for? Blanket permits country wide or the exact same rules country wide?

I read it as the same rules as far as weights, number of axles, and axle spacing across the country...and automated permitting systems to streamline the process.

I wonder how that will work for milk. Im permitted in my home state of PA for overweight, but NJ will not permit us because they claim milk is divisibe. Which it is if you look at each pound. What jersey doesnt account for is that we cant tell the farmer we'll pick you up tomorrow because NJ wont allow your milk on this truck. You have to look at the farms assigned to the route as one unit. When it goes to the dairy, the dairy expects it to arrive all together. Not on 10 different trucks.
All states surrounding PA and PA included, permit us. NJ wont. Blah! -
