Exactly all these elog loving suckers need to go back to their office or whatever they did before. I haven't had a siangle job since high school that wasn't at least an 11 hour day

So, for those that believe that this was really implemented not for safety, but rather to "level the playing field", you can see how upset they rightfully should be.
This then comes down to a political discussion as to whether or not the government should be picking winners and loosers.

But I'm still confused. It seems we still have a bunch of drivers saying we need to drive fewer hours for more money/wages. And a another group who says we should be allowed to generate as much revenue (miles) as physically possible in a day. Talk about no middle ground.

They deliberately ignore basic logic in order to view it as the ata leveling the field and driving small carriers out.

Okay so make it illegal for the company to force you to drive after x hours let those of us who don't usually get 6 hours of sleep at home keep driving

No is what you have is one group saying we want good pay and work half days, then the other group saying we'll take that pay but let's work a real day not only 11 hours and if you're independent or o/o you ain't making money sitting

Just as the other side deliberately ignores the influence of the ATA and believes that these rules were entirely created to enhance safety.

I just don't buy into this notion that the mega conglomerates want to run out all the smaller carriers. There's plenty of shipper accounts a typical mega wants no part of. And there's plenty of shipper accounts a small carrier wants no part of. We need all sizes of carriers and I don't think you will find any executive at a large carrier that will say otherwise.

Let's be realistic. I think we have a healthy blend of large, medium, and small carriers, as well as independent o-o's. No way the smaller fleets and independents world of yesteryear could keep up with consumer demand and logistics models we have transitioned to today.

The problem is, some of the larger outfits are too big for their own britches. They have gotten into bed with government at the highest levels and government has developed a new and selective approach in how they audit them and manage them from a safety perspective. They have huge crash counts and huge damage valuations every year, yet they have "good" safety records. You can't tell me they are not having special metrics applied to their safety scoring to keep them in a favorable light to the public.

Burger flippers want $15 a hour to flip burgers also..Everyone in society wants more for less and wants to make more for less.. that’s just human nature and especially this new generation that is just flat out lazy..

Let’s all be happy big brother stepped in for the interest of special interest groupsto save us from the tyranny of our 20yo punk dispatchers and brokers.. “sarcasm”

All I know is when I stop for the eternity of a 10hour break, when it’s finally up in the am the same yahoos who were next to me when I parked are the same yahoos still parked there with no movement... once this eld debate blows over I’m sure y’all will ask big brother to increase the break period to protect your lazy work ethics from your tyrannical company..

Aparently half of our industry is lazy, brainless and has no balls.. we are screwed.
