Sell that bs somewhere else scooter, I’ve been on both sides of this industry, driving and riding a desk and I would say 3 out of 4 drivers are lazy or complete dumba***. You go through atleast 3 drivers in my experience before finding a GOOD one who will work and has some sense.. judging by folks post on ttr I’m can categorize them accordingly,
Three more hours added to the fourteen hour duty status

And one other point. Operator does not refer to who is driving the truck. It refers to who has the operating authority. If you are not running under your own authority that makes you an owner driver. It has NOTHING to do with how the truck is financed.
Just the failure to grasp THAT simple concept makes anything else said suspect IMO. -

This was implemented under the guise of safety though. If it is no safer then get rid of it. It is not the government's responsibility to make it easier for dispatchers to schedule appointments.
You mention big bad owner/operators with disdain, saying that they don't have the balls to say no. And then in the next paragraph you say "It changes it to a 17/7. And many drivers will be forced to work that because “that’s the way it’s done” " Who are these drivers? How can they be forced if they have the balls to say no?
Then the next paragraph you say "Nobody forces you to drive 11 or Work 14", but somehow they can force you to drive 17?
You have succeeded in contradicting yourself numerous times. Which is it?Last edited: Apr 7, 2018

I have to live with 14 hours but it does not help me with anything. The shippers/receivers could not care less about 14 hours or even ELDs. I used to be able not only nap, but get out of the truck and go for a 2-3 hour bike ride - I used to carry with me - or take a hike in nice places. Now, they want me to roll and roll and then stop for 14-16 hours at crowded TA's and Petros making friends with Swifts and Schneiders while overeating disgusting buffet food. Road life quality with ELDs has changed for worse as far as I am concerned. Not that I complain as much as refuse to accept it as something better from what it used to be, even though it might have meant cheating, but it was morally a "good" cheating.
