How hard is it to align the steering wheel while the truck (2016) is in for an alignment?

It's at enough of an angle it blocks the oil pressure guage and is really annoying. The mechanic told me they can't align the steering wheel on a Volvo due to the stability control.

    Any truth to this?

    Thanks in advance.

Alignment of the steering wheel is also done while getting an alignment. Tell the tech to make sure the steering wheel is aligned. If it’s isnt, it’s no big deal to pull the steering wheel and align it.

Yeah isn't more than 15 minutes to pull it and center it. My old man said places are charging 65$ to do it.

Straightening the steering wheel can be done during the alignment, but you are correct, it will affect the traction control. The steering angle sensor under the steering wheel needs to be recalibrated. Bendix has free software you can download off their website. Hook up a laptop to the truck with an OBDII interface module and use the Bendix software to recalibrate the sensor. Basically you just drive straight for "X" amount of feet/yards and it will recalibrate itself.

You can do it by pulling the steering column off at the power steering box. The shaft on the top of the box is splined so you can adjust the steering wheel and reattach the column.

find a large speed bump that's hard to see and hit it at 20 mph. make sure you hit it dead on. alignment fixed! (not joking, i fixed mine this morning in chicago)
