Do CFI company trucks have APU's/EPU's?

New trucks have a 3k inverter for 110v appliances. Fridges run on 12v intermittent and not a problem overnight. The therm-electric coolers run non stop so take the batteries down more. Trucks have power management; when the batteries get low the truck shuts down by zone. Sleeper shuts down first and you get an alarm on the dash. The truck should always have enough juice to start the engine. If you're cooking on the truck you'll want to run the engine. Microwaves heat faster with the engine running cause 14v is feeding the inverter vs 12.6 on battery alone. You can burn your popcorn is you don't adjust the time. Have a fridge, electric skillet, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and rice cooker. Any one item at a time. Skillet and toaster together exceed nameplate rating of inverter and pops the breaker.

 

No they don't. You can idle at 32 and below or 75 and above. The batteries when running bunk heater will only run half the night then you freeze.
If you run batteries too low they charge you for the service call.

This is why my next company will have APUs. (You can even jump truck from APU)

 

I have an open challenge here:
If you go drive for CFI, I say that you (as well as anybody else) will work upwards of 90 plus hours a week, while living like an animal, for an average of $700.00-$900.00 gross; no matter how much driving time under your belt.
I happen to speak from experience.
By all means, go work for them and then keep us posted as to how things really are over there.
If you're 'man enough' to prove me wrong, then I'll be 'man enough' to concede.

I can run the bunk heater and leave the truck/trailer parking lights on during 10hr sleep. Truck is one year old. Any more than that and the sleeper shuts down. If you couldn't run the heater all night you might have had old batteries. They dont last forever.

 

2017 t680 with a 3k inverter ( peak output). Continuous is less. The dometic/truckfridge refrigerators run directly from 12v. Dorm fridges are a little larger and don't fit in the cabinet. Truck cabinets are made for a 15-1/2" wide fridge.
Living on a truck is a compromise. Apu's are the better part of $10k. That's a hefty outlay just so you can watch tv while you cook a burger.

 

Unfortunately the truck batteries are new. Had them replaced same thing.
