Since it's setting on the floor anyway, and the 4x4's are just kinda sitting there, I'll give him some credit for doing a pretty good job of securement otherwise. I guess he's also not going to be paid tarp pay?

If his coil racks were boosted somewhere or fell off recently without his knowing, it wouldn't be the first time those went walking or mysteriously weren't where they were last placed.

I saw a 5th wheel rv trailer with P&S Transportation sitting in front of the Blair offices( The old Fykes terminal) in Hope, Ar today. I was wondering about that.

P&S bought a majority of Blair Logistics a while back. Just one of the many carriers to be gobbled by the ever-growing P&S Logistics (like Louden County, Purdy, and Mizar Motors)

As far as that coil, there's a reason why P&S needs to quit trying to be steel haulers, and leave that freight to the professionals. After all, they bought a majority share of my carrier, and steel haul is all we do!

I find it hard to believe the shipper would load that without coil racks. If it comes off the trailer in transit, the lawyers would be beating on their door, too.

Isn't that the way they hauled them in the olden days?

Not necessarily. I used to haul large brass ingots from Buffalo to Lonoke AR Remington arms to be made into ammunition. Ive had to secure that into my reefer a time or three. That's a flatbed load. But due to the brass temperature required to be at 65 degrees in winter, it's a reefer load. Just the securement is something that is a memorable one.

I don't see any coil cradles under there on those photos. That is not a secured load. I don't see any ex conveyor belt material used as cushion and traction, I don't see any wood with three corners and one cut beveled inside the cradles for the coils.

I think the firing is justified.

I don't haul too much suicide coil thankfully. *(Suicide means rolling forward into the cab and mash driver when you hit something or stop too fast)

FYI Hope AR airport was THE place to store FEMA trailers after the massive storms decades ago. They filled the entire airport making the little pickup truck operators overjoyed and beside themselves with mountains of hauling income to Hope.

ALL of it rotted. Slowly and surely. Rotted.

They FINALLY held a auction a few years ago, most every one there sold for less than 3000 dollars each. I don't know what they were to FEMA retail but its such a waste. It was not long before they showed up in our local RV lots for sale for like a thousand dollars begging people to buy it. Anyone who knew anything about Hope and it's saga of RV trailer storage with FEMA made sure they were not saddled with those rotting boxes.

I have not been to hope in just about 20 years now today actually. (Used to run there to get cement out of a railroad facility) so I couldnt tell you the situation at the airport there. I would be very very surprised to see it still running.

It's still ther. QC uses a section of it for a drop yard out on the back 40.And it is still an airport. No more fema trailers though.

Blair logistics has been an owned subsidiary of P&S for years. It was started by the same people that own P&S. Michael Patton was the former operation manager at P&S, he moved over to run Blair back in the beginning of the company.
