Depends on the state, and where my concealed carry permit is good in. In other words, no officer.

Huh woodshavings don't count then? I never imagined such a ridiculous stinking rule would be needed but okay then.

As a licensed carry in my vehicle he knows already from the State attached information to my DL and my vehicle reg/tag related call up that there is a potential for a lawful gun carrier in that vehicle. Im trained to present the DL and the CHL to him and keep both hands where away from anything other than the wheel. When he asks for the weapon's position it's holstered where it usually is on my person. At that point whatever they feel they must do will happen their way. There isnt a problem.

Ive already had encounters with the Law where we had a unrelated matter and I was not carrying. In the house certainly, but not part of the problem. Sometimes I am concealed carry in a store next to a LEO who has no idea but due to certain body mannerisms which I work hard to minimize he probably knows I am legally armed. It's not a problem.

It will never happen anywhere near a Semi because I am disabled and not legal to touch one for the rest of my life such as it is with medical issues. Ive even had to sell my shotguns and slugs due to retina issues when firing the #### things years ago. The Thunder ranch 4 inch barreled combat revolver takes care of the home defense side very well. It does not conceal carry well at all so I don't use it for that.

I did however for decades open carried a holstered buck special blade. Its a generic bowie type knife with it's own holster and was perfect for breaking metal bands or shrink wrap in the warehousing and cold storage all over the place even NYC. Especially NYC in them bad old days. One of the mechanics from a certain company took a liking too much to it and kept it for himself. I consider that a theft. But since there are a thousand other knifes to choose from it's easily replaced and I let it go. It's not worth coming off the road to pursue it in court against him and lose miles doing it. Its only like 35 dollars at the time and easily replaced and worked out when I considered if he needed it more than I did, then it's a gift to him. Just hoped that he never did anything bad with it which I don't think he did.

So there is that. To me it's not a issue. I train with some local police at their range from time to time and sometimes they come train with us when certain instructors from IDF come to Arkansas to teach something that is beyond your basic defense problem and more towards fighting terrorists and active shooters using their core systems. I cannot fight Krav anymore due to bone loss but I still retain certain useful skills from it. Which I hope never to have to use in my life.

It's fun to be dealing with the LEOs in my area. They are by and large gun friendly to the good guys. And VERY predatory should we have trouble with armed gang members once in a while. 4 broke into a drug shop down the roads aways one evening. Two were captured at gun point in about a minute to the alarm late at night and the other two were run into the ground with a perimeter from 6 counties and more agencies getting it tighter as time wore on towards mid day. They really did not have any place to go.

As a result of these 4 being busted roughly 12 years worth of small town pharmacies with over about 120,000 doses stolen were solved in the eastern half of Arkansas until the hit the wrong one late one night. That pharmacy is even harder a target now with a LEO in the next lot over most the night every night. Instead of just one gun inside during business hours you are facing a miminum of 6 guns plus any number of legal carries plus a SWAT strike team qualified people that is the spearhead now compared to just a few years ago. The medicines themselves are so secured now aint no one able to get to it so it's not worth it anymore.

I go to a different pharmacy and that one knows I carry and I am welcome there.

But when you are on the side of the Law where I am living at, it's not difficult or stressful at all. However the driving a vehicle is less often and never with medicine active inside of me. Those trips are planned a month in advance with a 5 day detox period. Same with shooting ranges. There are other options being developed in my area to where I don't need to own a car anymore if I choose not to. But I prefer to keep it active anyway because sometimes those other options are not available.

Because of the choices I made in life I have lost many family. And lost some friends as well. They don't believe in any of that weapons stuff. Which is not really that much of a loss anyway. But certain states however... Maryland comes to mind. On the interstate system when I took a road trip there years ago they had the ability to capture a tag of my vehicle in real time and at that time in my life I was not a gun owner or a carrier so it was not a problem. But there needs to be a Non Res Permit process that needs to be completed before my next visit there. That way when I leave a state that honors Arkansas CHL and enter Maryland that honors NONE but their own specifically I will be covered against prosecution with their own permit system. They are however a May issue state, not a shall issue one.

Theoratically I can continue to be a trucker and conceal carry, especially in the light of the medicine loads I would still be hauling for certainly. But certain states disallow my Arkansas permits and fewer states even consider my current carry weapon and ammunition actually illegal. So It does not matter if I had a thousand licenses. Its still illegal.

Ive already raced a man with a good 33 round 9mm magazine with 4 7 round magazines in my rail gun and managed to go through all the reloads and he emptied out his one mag while I still fired the last two rounds or so maybe three. All were on targets, two paper plates at 4 yards. So he won the race in terms of emptying the rounds first but I was not that far behind him having gone through all 4 of my mags and was reaching for the 5th when the referee called it. I think it only took about 24 seconds on the shot clock for me and about 22 for him.

I will take active shooter training per our State Laws later this year with the Arkansas State Police. The one thing I will have to settle up with them first before anything is that the IDF core training I had has about 3 steps to firing. A police officer has 5 steps before firing. If that is not a issue then we will proceed. If it is then I'll have to learn the two extra steps and go through their training like they want it done. And I look forward to it.

I think back to the troubles Ive had over my life time on the big road with a semi including one cab invasion against my spouse by a sexual predator and a fight against two in calumet among other scuffles that I have both won and lost. The main thing is that whatever the problem happens to be there was thankfully no gun in sight in those days.

I grew up around guns in a living history type situation. I know the manual of arms for the Civil War Infantry and Artillery. But have not had a chance to use that infomation for years. The reason I took up modern gunning was I was blind in 2009.

After the surgery fixed and restored my eyes to better than what I had before, I deicded to go back to bowling and to take up shooting as a sort of catching up to all those years I have had a chance to carry but never did. Maryland is not a encouraging for modern guns to be honest with you. It still isnt. Maybe one day they will. I can hope.

Arkansas is a different place than Maryland was. We were a militarized occupied state from 1865 until 1874 until we regained the ability to rejoin the United States. Maryland on the other hand was once the only Colony on the battle line with whatever was on hand in the war of 1812. Espeically after DC was sacked and burned. They went after Baltimore next. Both on land (Hampstead hill - North Point area with the finest infantry force then known to man) at the same time by sea using congreave rockets against Fort McHenry. It is fortunate that none of those rockets ever got inside the bombproofs because there was no angles or secondary antriums inside the entranceway. If one got inside with about 5 truck loads of powder, the spear of fire would have cremated the place from inside out over 10 minutes. It's also a good thing those rockets were not that accurate from two miles downrange. They were liable to blow up in the sky just as well as on the ground.

When you visit fort roots VA north Little Rock, you are actually stepping back into history from where they would patrol Little Rock day and night. In those days people actively shot at each other with handguns in the streets because it's better than going up against the more common and feared arkansas toothpicks of that time period. Everything that is there in that VA up there by the river was there during and after the occupation was completed.

I had a Detroit cop ask me one night about 2am if I had a gun. I told him no. He asked why not? He stated this is not a good place.

If you have a AR or AK or Shotgun, they'd like to know, if you have have whips and chains and spears and axes, maybe. As for a knife, i've had one or more on me when i been stopped, and as long as i told them no issue. It's about there safety, and if your acting bad then the point becomes serious. And don't for get that a large barking dog can by some can be interperated as a weapon.

What is the purpose of the united states of america ? What is the purpose of laws ? What is the purpose of the bill of rights ? Not trying to be snarky asking legitimate questions. Many people assert there freedoms to ... I tend to enjoy my freedoms NOT to.

I've interacted with law enforcement a bunch of times in my truck never been asked that question.

I just carry a pocket knife at work. My answer would be "no officer, but I have a work knife."
