I also knew about drivers who complained about miles, but would complain about every load sent for some reason. In my experiences over half the drivers these companies hire now are misfits who would never make it through a normal interview process at a non-OTR outfit.
Go to any large T/S & see what passes for a "professional" driver these days as they get out of their trucks.Trucker61016, Coover, Frank Speak and 4 others Thank this. -

So what's up with all you fellows that continually pound on a guy that posts something negative about a company?
If I were so inclined as to think that these very same companies hire trolls in their defense, then I might actually be a borderline (If not a full blown) conspiracy theorist, which of course, I'm not.
That anyone that actually drives for any big mega is totally getting taken advantage of is no secret.
Enough of the proper trip planning baloney; that's all an over rated excuse to put the blame on the driver.
And enough of the "if it's really so bad then why don't you leave?" rhetoric as well.
Of course drivers leave, as in nearly a 100% departure rate before a year's time; proper trip planning or otherwise.
Thank God for the drivers that are reporting on these lousy companies; shower them with gifts and love.
Hopefully, their posts can help someone else from making the same mistake.
What the OP posted on this thread is all dead on; CFI is a terrible place to work. Period.
Same goes for all the other big megas as well.
To work the equivalent of two full time jobs for a whopping $40-$50 Grand a year (if even that) is hardly worth defending; any driver that would claim otherwise would truly be the one with the real issues.Last edited: Apr 30, 2018

All I know is that about 25% of my loads could not be pu on time or delivered on time. But I didn't sweat it, I just put in my ETA to shpr or ETA to consignee & about 60% the time the load got pushed out or the rest got a new delivery date & I dropped it in the yard.
These companies use load matching software so if you get a load that you can't pu on time you just communicate when you will be there. You might be the closest truck that is available. I never once got a service failure at any company, not 1. But if you have the hrs & say you are ready to roll & then say no & complain you will probably get one if they can't find anyone else to cover the load.Trucker61016 and BillStep Thank this. -
That's quite the career that you've had.free spirited1 Thanks this. -
