This driver was in for scheduled maintenance. When they tilted the cab forward all the bottles of urin samples he was storing inside the cab created a mess on the windshield. After completing the services the maintenance manager made arrangements with dispatch. The only loads he was assigned after that were in the vacinity of Laredo, Phoenix, and San Diago.
Anyone ever drive a cabover?

Most cabovers are pretty ancient at this point.
The only ones I see running around seem to be running for Mexican fly by night carriers.D.Tibbitt, BUMBACLADWAR and Lab work Thank this. -
Were his Mtn Dew samples as old as the truck?

Cabovers are in high demand here in Nevada to haul hay on doubles and triple trailers.
I drove a cab over back in 1988 Hauling rice across the Mexican border and bringing people back. Yes the last part was a joke.tnt440, Lepton1, Justrucking2 and 8 others Thank this. -
Ive enough cabovering to last a life time.
I am strictly conventional for a variety of reasons.
That is not to say I don't appreciate and enjoy a cabover done right. But those days are long over. -
Did the cabover have air conditioning? I always hear rumors that the engine heat was unbearable.
12 ga Thanks this. -
Yes they have air conditioning and nowadays there so insulated you don't feel any heat. People don't think they still make them but they do. Back in 1988 I drove teens from Indianapolis to LA and I loved it. I would choose a cab over over any truck when driving in the city.

Hot as hell in the summer, cold and drafty in the winter. Used to wear sneakers driving mine,I'd get out at the end of the day and walk across the parking lot, pebbles would stick to my soles cause they were tacky,it was so dam hot in there.Sleep in a hammock under the trailer. Had a big hot turboed 335 Cummins right under you. Pic is from 1974 with my 1969 COF4070A. The later Transtar II cabovers, they raised the cab up 4" to help with the heat issue.
nredfor88, Concorde, Blackshack46 and 21 others Thank this.
