Hi Jay22. What school are you going to? I live in Redford and I just graduated from Integrity TDS in Livonia in Dec. I'm looking out my window right now watching the snow fall and thinking that your idea to move to Florida is a stroke of genius!!

my trainer is starting to drive me nuts. at least in some ways. he doesn't seem to think that internet access is important, so i've been waking up (him still asleep) to find us at rest stops and exit ramp medians. grrr.
and omfg, does he ever like it *cold* in the cab! i woke up this morning and it was 50 degrees (according to the company thermometer) and he was crashed out as happy as could be.
i finally broke down and bought a 12V electric blanket last night. it actually worked and it's not bad but it's too small for me honestly, since i'm 6'4" and it's ... not. but at the moment i don't have the cash for anything better. trying to stay away from the cash advances ... those will kill ya every time.
anyway, we're in salinas, ca, waiting for a fresh express load going to phoenix and back to fort worth (where i live). maybe when we get there i'll be able to see the kids. that'd be nice.
it's frustrating in a way. he's not a bad trainer by any stretch, but it's his truck and i'm at his mercy in a lot of frustrating ways. i imagine the training period is just a rite of passage everyone has to get through, and this is something i'll get through too. but i don't have to like it.
tho i should say, that driving on my log book #### will have to stop. -
Thanks for the kind responses everyone! To say I'm excited would be an understatement. I appreciate the advice you all have for me. Anybody out of the Portage, IN terminal? That's where I'll be based out of.
Sorry to hear about the issues rnb. I'm a little nervious about training, party due to the issues you're having. Since it is his truck, yeah, you're sort of at the mercy of the way he likes things. All well, at least it's temporary. Once you get your own truck, it'll be done your way.
Keep us posted on how everything is going. I'll be reading! -
Im at Nu-Way in Livonia. I have three days left to go and then its off to take the state exam. I can't wait to get to my orientation in Jackson, Mississippi. Hopefully I can enjoy some decent weather for a few days before I head out with my trainer.
That is, if they decide to call me back to set up my orientation date. -
when you go to the kroger, remember to walk on the driveway, NEVER cross the drainage ditch. it turns out that the water table is ABOVE the bottom of the ditch, so it's ALWAYS wet.

My ideal location would be either Tennessee or Arizona but the lady cant handle the heat in AZ and we have no family at all in TN so right now that would be a bit difficult. Maybe sometime down the road. Who knows... -
