I used to run through Wyoming quite a bit when I was new to trucking. Usually I would run along I-80 across to US 30 from border to border. The East state line has a port for trucks entering the state near Cheyenne so it's only on the Westbound side. I-25 is the same from North to South respectively. The US 30 scale can be entered from both sides, but I asked the DOT officers there once if I had to pull in when exiting the state and they said no, unless I had picked up a load within the state. So...in Wyoming you only scale coming in, unless you picked up a load and the port is accessible from both sides.

If you see a white sign with black letters and it says COMMERCIAL VEHICLES MUST STOP, then you gotta swing in. Or if there's an open/closed sign obviously. At Gillette, if you're just passing thru on 90, you dont have to stop. But say you're getting off 90 to get on 59 south towards Wright via Gardner Lake Road, you have the black and white sign, so yes, then you gotta stop. OR.......if you get off at the POE exit and take the frontage road back over to GLR, no black and white sign! The lady in the POE explained that to me.

I stop if they're open. I've been going through on the weekends though, so all the small ones have been closed.
I always go in if they are open.Crude Truckin' and snowlauncher Thank this. -
