Okay... I can see that. Question I now have for the company, under that pretense, why not calculate miles keeping us on interstate versus back country roads in times where the only direct path is a US hwy. I understand its not exactly the same, but...

I had to take US hwy through NM because the interstate added too many miles to their calculated route, so... whatever.

 

Other than the repair problem, they shouldn't be concerned about the mpg's as long as your monthly average is where it should be...but, I am a truck driver, and it's above my pay grade to think...

 

Well...I see this driver school start up venture coming soon. Hmmm dispatchers, fuel stops, not having a choice of runs and routes coming soon. Once the hand holding starts...I am out.

 

Driver school is because we can't get drivers. US is at full employment. Of the four trainees I've had so far this year, put one in a truck. Really starting to scrape the bottom of the barrel here, candidate wise.

Fuel stops, already happened. We used to be able to fuel anywhere, till some knuckleheads filled up at the highest price dump they could find next to their house back when diesel was $4.

Choice of runs and routes is still there. Don't go sightseeing unless you can justify it. Fuel is the largest expense.

They just handed out a $4800 raise if you hit all the numbers and all I see is #####ing. Amazing.

 

Oh yea, I looked at that and realized that after I fueled up that I need to go back to my O/O instincts with the fuel prices creeping up.

Yea, heard about that a few weeks ago. Unless they change the times we deliver there, I won’t be going. The northeast is one of those areas where u can trip plan your ### off and still won’t find parking after a certain time.
