There is no cure for alcoholism. Once an alcoholic always one. Fall off that wagon it can be disastrous. I have friends that are alcoholics. I always try to celebrate sobriety goals. I also have told them if they fall off that wagon call me. If the OP is still drinking that is his business. However if doing so he is exhibiting one of the characteristics of at least a problem drinker. However going 10 or more years means the OP has made some changes or it simply means he has been lucky. If the OP gets that CDL and a job he starts being subject to on duty breath tests. I hope for the OPs sake drinking and driving is in the past.

I have buddy that had a dui 20 years ago, then got another last year. He received one year cdl suspension. He is owner operator and gets cdl back in November. He wrapped his pickup truck around tree and suffered injuries. What a #######
