Nice! I stand to inherit probably another 20 from Dad. No self incriminating pics of amps, not that I would ever own them. I keep my output to 3.9 Watts to be safe. That 100 amp power supply is for um, charging batteries. Yep,that’s it.

I hear ya loud n proud partner.

Once my buddies found out I could turn a knob or two and solder in an echo board, the bench filled up. Lol.

By the way, I sure wouldn’t mind doin some tradin for that ole Galaxy 66. Kinda brings back memories. Mid 90’s, I hadn’t been truckin long, I saved my pennies for months and bought one brand new. First “big radio” I ever had.

Like a fool I traded it off when I thought I was gonna quit truckin.

We might could work something out. Would you believe I traded that Cobra in the pic with an RFX on the back and $75 for that Galaxy 66 and a Silver Eagle 350? I guess I shouldn’t be telling you that, LOL. The General Lee underneath that 66 is tuned by Radioactive, the tech everyone badmouths. That GL has gotten me more compliments than any radio I ever owned, incredibly loud and clear.

BTW, that 66 is a single final. If you ever want to do something just PM me. That GL will never be for sale, too many ducks out here to squish, MUHAHAHA.

Is a Cobra 29 worth messing with? It's got new coax and been set up, but nothing done internally.

I've got an astatic mike now that's giving me issues

The digital face 29 is a nightmare if the CPU board goes out,its not worth fixing. A regular 29 can do well with a peak and tune or mosfet conversion, pretty durable radios, especially if it’s a phillipines version. That astatic probably needs a new cord, or it might be the PTT button, if it’s the PTT button, it’s an easy 10 cent fix.
