I had a little piece break in my Astatic 636, and the spring got loose. Pulled it apart, cut off a pencil eraser and wedged it and it’s worked fine since. I bought it in 2005.

Shoot yeah, whatever it takes to get it done.

I’ve had so many of them have cord problems. I got sick of constantly tryin to solder the tiny wires back to the plug. Lease roads are not kind to stuff like that. The Ranger cord has held up for over two years now. The Astatic sounded fine, just too problematic for off road, IMHO.

Good deal. Everything works as it should, I will make you a video of it on the bench when we get down to it. Chucks on I40 in Holliday, Tn did the original tuning. 30 ish Watts if I remember correctly, into a dummy load of course, or somewhat close.

If one of ya wants to wrench on radios I'd send ya this one. It quit transmitting. I've heard the insulation on the board wears through from the case and needs recoated. I haven't tore into it

I bought a Roadking 11 years ago and it’s been a good one but I bought a Roadking CB this year and it came with one and it’s a piece of junk from what I can tell. I bought a Ranger on a whim a couple years ago and I like it a lot.
