For those that say DOT leaves Eloggers alone, I believe you. Its early to tell yet, but I have noticed a new discrimination against my pre 2000 trucks. When They can’t find a problem with HOS, they make an extra effort to find a niggling issue elsewhere. It used to be “you keep this Truck in nice shape”. Not anymore
Opendeck and singlescrewshaker Thank this. -

Like I said, I believe it. They might be doing their best to force me into Elogs for my pre emission trucks just by discriminating against paper logs.

If it is true, however, that the rates are great then maybe I should revise my expectations. My first year (2017) as an independent was miserable when I averaged 1.62 on all miles.
I'd settle for business netting of 100K out of 100 miles a year as a good year. This profit demands a gross of 180-200k in my case. As of today I am at 2.23 on all miles and 2.82 on loaded miles, and that is gradually going down....which worries me. But already I am almost 3/4 of my total business net of the whole 2017. So in a way it is a sky better than what I had last year, however, I'd like to think this has nothing to do with ELDS but me doing things somewhat different. -
jamespmack, tucker and rank Thank this.
