I’m gonna show my age on this one... I grew up with two movies. Black Dog. Joy Ride.

Those were my trucker movies. Both came out in the late 90s... hell I think Joy Ride was a 2002 release...

I didn’t see Convoy, Smokey and the Bandit, and Cool Hand Luke till I was well into my middle school years. They don’t resonate with me as far as “childhood memories” the way Black Dog does...

I know I know. I’m a young guy.

I’m 23 this summer

Hell, I haven’t even begun to perfect my beer drinking ability

 

Man I feel old and I’m not that old. I’ll have been driving a semi for 21 years in June.

Beer drinking isn’t a requirement.

 

Many of y’all on this forum have been driving longer than I’ve been breathing...

It’s ight though. I’m not the smartest most experienced guy in this thread — in fact I’m probably the least experienced — but I like it that way. You don’t learn anything when you’re the smartest guy in the room...


Beer drinking is a right of passage in my family it seems. We’re definitely not alcoholics but some of my best memories involve the men in my family lounging around a fire pit with a drink in hand...

 

Disappointment by the Country Pride is what it looks like I'm in store for. Just pulled in at Council Rd. in OKC.

I wanted mexican and was going to try that little place by the Love's on Morgan Rd. but they're closed on Sunday. Little place in Copan, OK was closed today too. I guess Oklahoma hasn't gotten the news that it's 2018 and people want food on Sunday too.

I’d be bobtailing across the freeway... isn’t there a handful of good sit downs right across the way there?

 

I stayed at that little joint in Copan here while back when I was draggin the hopper. Not a bad little place.

It was a Thursday night though.
