It was an optional feature. Many fleets use them for increase safety and lower insurance premiums. They do work really well and are a nice safety feature. However, the engine is programmed to work with it. You need engineering level programming access to remove this feature. This is beyond what dealers are able to do. International has to get involved, or find someone who can do custom tunes. Also, you have to replace the ABS ECU as they cannot be reprogrammed to omit it. At that point, you are removing a safety feature the truck was built with and who ever removed the safety feature, including you, may be held legally liable should you every be involved in an accident.

I don’t mind having it, when it’s functioning properly. But now that it’s not I’ve lost cruise control. But the crazy thing is, the idle cruise still works. It Just doesn’t work out on the highway.

Yes, it all has to work properly in order for the cruise to function. 99% of the time the problem is wiring or connections.

    Hey heavyd

I have a 2015 international pro star with a Cummins ISX and every time it rains it throws the abs tc and upside down triangle. After it stops raining the lights will come off by them selfs or me Turing the truck off will get them off. Just curious as to what senor or connections would be exposed to the rain with the hood closed that would cause these lights?

99% of the time it is the right steer wheel speed sensor. The wiring runs along the front cross member behind the bumper around to the wheel. ABS wires are twisted pair and they rub through on everything. We just run new wiring across the firewall from left side over and down to the right side because you cannot fix the original wiring due to rubbing in several spots, not just one.

I believe I may have that same issue however this last storm I went through the lights didn’t go out. Upon some other advice I changed out the speed wheel sensors and still nothing. No clicks nothing.

If the system is detecting a short to a modulator, it will disable all of them. Either way, the first thing to do here is get your truck scanned to get the actual code before throwing parts at it.
