You're forgetting one thing. The federal DOT makes these rules but then expects the states to buy the equipment to enforce them. More and more states are becoming unhappy with the amount of money needing to be spent to enforce DOT regs. The last I heard, Tennessee legislature still hadn't allowed Tennessee to buy the equipment to read ELDs .

I know for a fact California can see your logs via prepass, we got pulled in due to me being paranoid about our tandems And stopping to adjust them before we hit the scales. Got a full inspection and a yellow sticker but when I asked if he needed our logs he said we can see them. He told us where we switched and so on so it's already happening.

Make a trip into one of those coops and observe the inhabitants actions, try to get into a position where you can see the screen of the cameras watching the trucks out on the road. They have some cameras positioned that they can tell what is in your ash tray. If you going to play the game know you are being watched and tracked constantly, they have to level the playing field for those who are a bit challenged so they attack the smart ones to let the others catch up. progressives go figure.

California can only see the other sites prepass was used at. Including in Oregon and Washington, perhaps other states as well, not sure on that part. And as team drivers on elog with likely a good company score and a driver obviously rested/capable of driving, no need to see the log. I bet is what happened there.

This isn't a troll post, I'm not a recruiter, if I cared about your accusation I'd screenshot the VIR and my sticker. Don't be jealous.

Yeah I wish you would. Does your inspection report state the inspector viewed logs without any input from the driver? I bet you a steak dinner it does not. Just says logs checked yes and no violations I bet.

Worst case scenario, we use the Clinton method...bleach bit and some hammers...maybe a shredder for good measure. Considering the carrier in my case is a good friend with only a handful of trucks, it isn't as "out there" as it might be at a larger company.

Starting January 18th, all eld equipped CMV’s will be required by law to have 1 red and one green light located directly below the drivers and passengers doors. These lights will be wired directly to the trucks eld unit.

A driver with hours still available will have the green light lit. While drivers in violation will have the red light lit.

The reason it doesn’t go in effect until January is to give the eld company’s time to add this feature into their units.

This makes it so the scale houses and mobile dot will have no problems identifying problem drivers. All they have to do is look for the light. Even if you got a prepass bypass, they will still be able to see the light from the scale house.

The fines will be paid direct from employer. Company drivers will only see a deduction on pay stub and a code identifying the infraction
Fine mess you kids got yourself into:)
