Star Trucking, TN........Better places to work in trucking. No pay for orientation, they will tell you, "no", "because orientation is only a day an half long" (that should be your first red flag). No sign on bonus. Safety Manager that did his intro to the company was aggressive, confrontational and arrogant. After orientation, paperwork, drug test, driving test, last step will be an interview to let you know if they will hire you, (thought that is why they got you there, not so..). They go over DAC and MVR , again. Safety and polices are geared towards firing for infractions. You must sign an agreement to be responsible for all damage to your equipment or involved with, (trailers). They encourage reporting offenses, damages. Freight is mostly auto parts. You will do a lot of swapping trailers with other drivers, (they call it relaying). Sly way of cutting into miles and really working you. Drivers I talked with had almost no positives about working there. Pay is not competitive. Star is under umbrella of Covenant Trucking. "There are better places to work".

I want drivers who are interested in submitting an application to this company to have an idea of what to expect. Recruiters don’t go into a lot of details and have been known not to be truthful. Hopefully, a driver knows what to expect concerning wages, miles, runs etc., before they get to any company’s orientation. So, when I feel the discussion is loosing the direction or content of my post, I will post it again and as often as I feel it’s needed. -
Topics in threads wander sometimes, the same as they do in actual conversations. There's nothing wrong with that and sometimes the turn is really entertaining and informative. Lighten up a little and enjoy.
And for what its worth...it's losing, not loosing. That's okay, though. I'll only mention it once.Last edited: May 23, 2018

Uhhhhhhhhh..........Star has pretty nice equipment. The OP is the first person I've heard complain about star. Like I said in a post in another thread. Every company has an ambassador, and every company has a hater.
driven2it2 Thanks this. -
