They will try putting students with someone who lives near them if possible. If its not possible thwn its basically random based on if what trainer is currently available, and if smoker/non smoker.

Hello Truckerland, and Millis folks. I hope y'all are doing well out there today. I wanted to take a second to say thank you to all of the folks I've met during my journey, and all the folks who have helped me along the way. I'm lookin' at you @keen98 :D There are others of course, but most are no longer on the site, based on recent activity history. I will continue to make myself available to anyone looking at Millis. Feel free to send me a PM, I'll get back to you as soon as I'm able. I love the company, and the people. I am so grateful for the start I got there. However, this will be my last post on a Millis thread. It would be the right thing to do if I just simply walked away and said goodbye and left it at that. However, I'm not known for doing the right thing. I'm leaving for two reasons. The first (and most important) is that I am really busy these days and I simply don't have a lot of spare time. The other is because of a barnacle. I am definitely not a patient person, I'll grant you that. But normally, at least online, I give people a pretty wide berth. There is someone on this thread that is a "has been/never was" driver for Millis. Never got his own truck, never finished training. In fact, never got a trucking job at all. It happens, that's life. But, this person feels the need to latch on to anything having to do with Millis, and frankly I find it pathetic. Not only does that person have zero real experience, they feel the need to "help" people interested in the company by offering comments and information that have zero basis in current knowledge. Honestly, I can't believe this person hasn't been called out by now. But, I have reached the point that I can't stand it anymore. You aren't funny, you aren't helpful, and you are an annoying wannabe. Until you have any real experience driving a truck or working for Millis, it would probably be best if you just kept quiet. But, I know that you won't. Enjoy your time here, I guess. Based on the fact that you were on this site way before me, you still don't drive, and you're here after I left, I'd say you have an obsession problem. Have fun with that. Let us know when you actually drive a truck for a living. For those of you who actually live life in reality, feel free to hit me up if you need anything. Peace y'all. Fare Thee Well.

I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day weekend. Watch out for the increased amount of idiots on the roads.

Ill be sitting at home hanging out with my kids. I learned that working holidays is usually pointless as you end up sitting waiting to deliver.

I hate to hear that but I understand. I just want you to know that it was reading this blog and mostly your posts in it that made me decide to go with Millis instead of the other options I had. Heck I was wanting to be a flatbedder until reading the posts from the Millis drivers and I thought to myself "These guys seem legitimately happy with their job. Maybe I'll give pulling a box a try."

    Good luck and be safe!

Mine just happened to be at the Trenton terminal my first day of class and he was going to be needing a trainee, so that's how we hooked up. February was a slow month for students, because there was a couple of trainers through there afterwards that tried to snatch me up because they didn't have one.

Quick question before you leave? Any chance of you replying back if someone messaged you on here?

@keen98 how much time did you take when you bought your new house? 2 weeks shouldn't be frowned upon, right?
