You are only allowed to take exactly 30 minutes and exactly 10 hours. Or else you will get a ticket for being a slack ###.

Take as many as you want, there is no law aganist it.

I used to pickup. Had to send load info, but wasnt allowed to do so on customers property so I would go to the 1st place I could find to park which was the Indiana scale house or a rest area. Then fuel stop then stop north of Indy for a nap then stop south of Gary, IN to pee, then hit the customer in WI.

99% of the time, I don't even take the 30...usually loading my backhaul about the time I'm needing it anyway, so I go to line 1 about 30 minutes before I'm done strapping it down. Then I roll. If I'm going to take a break, it's going to be somewhere I want to be and doing something I want to be doing...not sitting in my truck twiddling my thumbs. I'm out here to work and get home, not sit around somewhere waiting on a stupid clock.

The only thing that matters is if the load gets there on time or picked up on time, and you don't extend your time out too far for the next segment down the road. No law says that you can't take 1 1/2 hrs off if you want for a nap or whatever.
