Is it just shaking ? Any knocking noise coming from the engine? Either way best take it to a trained professional mechanic.

Yooo truckers. I both brand new volvo in 2016 vbl 670. When i had 98k miles i had a vibration caming on. Was shaking all truck deer guard and 5thweel. I dropet to dealer thay did a lot of things and they didn’t figured out whats going on. Change all tires with rims, balance driveshaft, changed 3 of leaveling valve, they put updated one. Nothing. After 15 days of searching and with no good results they bring equalaiser. After that test they told me that the truck its ready. And the problem was on breake drums from steer axles. I drove 600 miles vibration came back not that strong but stiil can fill it. I went back to dealer they told me that manufacturing closed the chase. And wee cant do nothing with out charge you. I drove like that by now i have 302k miles and that strong vibration i fill it like is caming back. When i am empty its fill stronger. I am puling dry van. Any sugestion maybe some one had this problem and was something els not break drums. Because I think that they lied to me.

What is reason cups or injectors have such a failure rate?

I’ve wondered the same thing. I have 7.3L p/u truck and a lot of people were have cup problems. Turns out they were using ELC style coolants, but the older 7.3 needed regular green. The long life coolants were too acidic and were just eating through the loctite or whatever. Problem was solved.

    Oldironfan Thanks this.

@Oldironfan the only thing holding the cups in the head is a bonding agent. Once shoot and combustion get into the injector its better to replace them instead of gambling on them to last much longer. On D13 I haven't heard of injectors falling outright. Thats because cups fail and damage the injectors.

    flood and Oldironfan Thank this.

That seems like a stupid design. Aren't some cups screwed in? Just thinking out loud.
