Well I went out there and applied the hair dyer, and still nothing!!! THe valve keeps blowing off like crazy..... I let the dryer set on it for about 15 minutes, and also heated the bottom and the lines going into the governor....nothing.
-
My advice would be just go get a new governor (buy two and carry one as a spare...its cheap insurance). While your at it you should change the air dryer cartridge. I change mine every fall no matter what. I would rather spend a couple extra bucks and be running then sitting on the road with a repair bill if I can't fix it.
Wen782 Thanks this. -

Going to put the new one on in about half hour.... Thanks for all the help and hopefully!!!! THis is the problem, but knowing neither of my tanks are filling up, this has to be it. I'm glad to have you guys with the experience, to learn from!!

I don't have experience...I just learned the hard way. Good luck getting unthawed. Let us know if you need anymore help.

Well I replaced the governor with a new one, and loosened the little hose from the air dryer, loosened the big bottom hose from the dryer and of course the stuff I poured into the hoeses from the governor leaked out.... So now what? Is the dryer frozen in the bottom half or just my lines still? I'm stuck with no other alternatives....
-
I would probably just replace the whole air dryer,...It isn't much more money,....It seems the heating elements are made in china these days and prone to failure,....Might as well have the warranty with a new one...
-
Whole air dryer filter? Or the main air dryer system, because if your talking about the system, that isn't cheap like your saying....

You can try to take a propane torch and try to thaw the bottom of it. If there is ice in the hoses, you can try to take your hair drier along the lines to see if you can thaw it. Freightliner has the whole drier unit on sale for 149.95 in Monroe, MI - maybe you can find one locally?
You can take an air chuck, disconnect both ends of the hose and try to blow through it to see if it's blocked or not, also.
Good luck!
