SAIA for Linehaul?!

Do some reading here first, info on SAIA in recent threads.

 

Driver facing cameras and draconian safety policies. I'd only work for them as a last resort.

Overall saia is good besides the bluetooth/drivecam thing.. there's no doubles experience req' d, that's part of their training regimen.. linehaul is all daycabs and you layover in company hotels when you're not home. Starting out, you'll be in a hotel zero to four times per week (depending on what's happening at your home terminal) and you'll have off on weekends. 75-80k first year is easy, and you can make more if you hustle..

 

depending on the region that you are in starting pay can be from 58 cpm on up since you don't have doubles experience. if you're coming in with otr experience, i have seen guys come in with the experience pay. they just recently gave us a pay bump too, which now has us topped out at about 67 If I remember right. this changes region to region. Some pay higher than others.

 

Yeah saia is looking to hire me. Old dominion refusrd me for now i already accepted a flatbed otr job. Which pays like 53cpm on average of 2800 to 3200 miles. Company pays all benefits i dont pay premium. 2340 miles is 1250.. 2650 is 1400. 3000 is 1575. . Is it smart that im choosing to go otr??. Or should i go to saia.

 

@Travelworld2067 saia is better at the long run, you can always transfer from night shift to day shift. Also after so many years saia will pay your insurance at no cost to you, not sure if applies to your whole family. Overall saia is a good outfit dont let the phone and CB radio policy discourage you as here at OD many trucks dont have radios. It's just a matter of getting used to.

Do i have to go through long application process like at odfl? Phone and in person interview and then a whole month for background checks??
