Pennsylvania just past this year a new income tax on out of state workers who are payed under form 1099-MISC and make more than $5,000 a year from a company in PA. (www.rklcpa.com/new-pa-rules-for-non-resident-1099-misc-withholding/). I am leased to a supermarket company that owns business's in NJ and PA. I work and payed from the NJ location. Company states that any income for loads being delivered to PA will be taxed 3.07%. When reading the new PA tax law on this it states that independent owners who work out of PA but reside out of state will pay the tax. I don't believe this pertains to me since I don't work out of PA but for some reason the company thinks they are obligated to take the tax out of my income. Your thought's?
