They're liars. 45 minutes waiting for a rate con is BS. And you always have to get them to send two emails when you verbally accept a load in order to be considered dispatched on the load. The first one is the rate con without addresses. The second one is the dispatch instructions with the addresses and pickup numbers. If they don't send you the second email they don't consider you dispatched so you will not get TONU if they cancel it and you don't have that.
Always make them send you both of these while you're on the phone with them. There's no excuse for waiting a minute or even 5 minutes for a rate con. I have had too many of these TQL brokers send me a rate con and dispatch sheet immediately while on the phone. So it is assumed anyone trying to buy time is playing me so I move on to more serious prospects. If I'm in a good mood I might give them 5 minutes.
It's unreasonable for anyone to expect you to hold a truck. When they hold you up like that you're getting taken advantage of and most likely about to be tossed under the bus. Never move that truck without both emails in hand from them.
Wary of TQL

If that's what it takes to get them to stop randomly calling seeing if I have a flatbed available in bfe iowa, then good.
I've never had a flatbed.77fib77 and MagnumaMoose Thank this. -
I hauled two loads for them back in 2015. It wasn’t terrible but I just don't care for the way they do business. Even when I'm stuck someplace I just can't bring myself to dial their number.
silver dollar Thanks this. -
Personally,.. just do like every other intelligent O/O has done and just black list TQL.
I black listed them 4 yrs ago after screwing me out of $500 on my rate for something that was out of my control and I made them aware of. They assured me everything was fine,.. then after I delivered they fined me anyway and refused to discuss it.
F' em. They dont call me and I dont call them. Ever.

For anyone that has signed a broker/carrier agreement with them (TQL), were you able to red line any parts of the agreement? It looks like this is now automated with no where for the carrier to make edits. Are they receptive to changes in the agreement or is it a "take it or leave it" situation with them?

There’s a few TQL brokers I’ll deal with. Right now I have two good ones that have been giving me easy short runs that last all day, and pay about $150/hour. Other than that I’ll only talk to them when I’m stuck in the dead zone, and they are my only paid way out. They’ve paid all their bills so far.

You're seldom, if ever, gonna see that kind of outlay from a small fish broker. Never mind asking a direct customer for that. Most of those small fish brokers in fact are like many of the drivers reading what I said, incredulous and say/think it never happens. It's good that lots of carriers and drivers refuse to work with them especially when trucks are tough to find. Of course playing with fire you might get burnt now and then. I'll tell you from experience though they're not going to stop calling you just because you block their number. If you REALLY don't want them to ever bother you call their carrier services tomorrow morning and have them put your MC # on their do not book list. And they won't call you for sure then.Last edited: Jun 26, 2018

Yes, that would have happened to him with just their "rate con" attachment. It is meaningless without the "driver instructions" attachment. You've booked with them and you certainly know that old trick of theirs. It can't be stressed enough for people that have never booked with them before so they can avoid getting screwed. Have mentioned many times here but it's always worth mentioning again and again because they are world famous for giving out their "rate con" and withholding the "driver instructions" then cancelling the load and not paying TONU. No "driver instructions" no load. Put the pressure on them and make them send driver instructions ASAP by telling them without those you're just going to pursue other freight. They'll send it, otherwise you might end up TQL'D.

They crossed a line with me. My self respect is worth more than any rate they can provide.
