Any suggestions if i should be an employee or start a company? Not sure what starting company means but i was told it ll save me some taxes at the end of year as i can reduce the ammount for my bills and stuff while driving.

K, not trying to be an #######, but you're falling for some bad #### man; for real. I'm pretty sure I know who you're talking about, and its gonna end VERY badly.

Definitely be a employee first. Any company offering you a “business” is going to run you like a raped ape until you are so far in the red you have to walk away from your failed business venture

    Noobtr Thanks this.

I thank you for this post , Im in Alberta as well and looking to train to get a Class 1 . Gentlemen thank you so much for the replies . Jazz1 , .. well if i take off my shirt , the zoo automatically has to do an inventory of the gorillas . If it was not for you and BigHoss , I can foresee me being part of the remake of " Treachery and Greed on The Planet of The Apes " . They would have to edit scenes so they can get an " R " rating rather then an "x"

Noobtr may I ask which school you went? , Ive seen Gennaro on my FB feeds .

    Hi

I won't recommend that school to anyone. My instructor mainly concentrate on whats in the test rather than teching everything a driver should know.

I went to CCA for air brake course and I would have taken class 1 training there too if I knew how good they are at teaching before that.

I am currently talking to couple of companies about job and will post here after I start the job.

OK one thing you're going to need as a truck driver is a basic understanding of arithmetic.
    24 hrs/day times 7 days/week = 168 hours / week
    20,000 miles/week divided by 168 hours/week = 119 miles per hour.
    Maybe you misunderstood?

As a reference for comparison, most rookie drivers at big carriers doing solo OTR average between 2,000 and 2,500 miles per week. Nobody does 20K miles per week.

And I wouldn't roll over and fart for twenty cents a mile.

Im in bizarro world and unless that things got wings and flys at 500mph u aint getting 20k miles. You probably wouldnt pass a drug test if you think thats worth considering at 20cpm. Probably couldnt pass a blood test neither.
