How Long Can I Go On Stinking Batteries?

    My fuel pump went out on me the other day, unbeknownst to me, I kept trying to start the truck many times and got the batteries down pretty good. Anyway, now they are stinking like sulphur rotten eggs. Still have 1000 miles to run and not a lot of time other than my 10 hour breaks, I guess I could try to trip plan it for then tomorrow night. Can I go another day?

    Not long....but you might make it 2 days. When mine started stinking, I thought I was close to a paper mill or a cesspool. Drove up and drove back the next day, and the 3 rd morning, I figured out what the smell was. Fortunately, I was right across from a pretty good TA.

    I'm thinking about using the new Personal Conveyance rule to move a few miles over to T/A tonite to get it done.

    Wouldn't be a mistake .you're gonna buy one, or more, anyway. And they're a lot cheaper when you bring it to them instead of them coming to you

    Personal Conveyance is for personal things not related to the trucking business .
    If you going to have repair your truck it is Driving and ON duty not driving while truck is in the shop.
    I will call your company just make sure you logged it right.

    That happened to me. I didn’t die from acid eggs smell. My company only authorized the one to be replaced. Not 1 month later they all had to be replaced, including that new one.
