These things have come way down in price. I carry one with me all the time. Helps narrow down bad bearings on hubs, pulleys, etc.

On sale for 15 bucks at HFT all the time. The actual temp indicated don't mean anything, what you are looking for is consistency in the readings amongst all the hubs.

    Bud A., Dave_in_AZ and ShooterK2 Thank this.

I usually buy 4 at a time, then when I see a young fella actually doing a post trip, I'll hook them up at my cost, gift the #### thing to him if he is still has the 4 week school smell.

the article says trailer tire and wheel came off truck going ooposite direction and got wedged up under neath this guys truck causing him to lose steering. Also you can see the dual wheel assemble against guardrail.

Amazing everyone saying " He's lucky."

You'll see your hub leaking before it gets to this, providing that you check them. I dare say there was probably some smoke for awhile as well.

If it was lug nuts, should see some streaks, but no guarantee.

When I bought my truck, Freightliner of Arizona put all new rubber on it. Right near 89 North in Flagstaff on the way to SLC to get trailer, bob tailing, first trip, I'm hearing noise I've never heard before from passenger steer.
I stop. Oh gee. Steer is falling off. Like 5 or 6 lugs finger loose several a good 1/2' away from the rim.

    Bud A. Thanks this.

It wasn’t his wheel that came off.
