Hi, can anyone give me an update on getting hired at Walmart? What I am asking is, can anyone tell me if the proccess is the same as it has always been? Is it like, put in application, then wait for a call to set up a phone interview. Then if you pass that, go to DC for pretrip and road test. Then DOT physical and drug screen. Then wait for background to be checked and then set up for orientation. I know in the past that was somewhat how they did it. I am just trying to see if anything has changed with the process. Thanks for any help.

No changes, except that now they don't require over the road experience, if you have a solid record even as a local guy, you can get hired. The rest stayed the same.
Still a good place to work after all.
    Good luck.

Sounds about right. Don't lie about anything and if you have a good driving record, shouldn't have an issue

Per corporate memo today, they have made the following changes.

    1. Complete an obstacle run where you must avoid falling prices in the store.
    2. You must put on a disguise and return something successfully that Walmart doesn’t even sell.
    3. There is one truck in the fleet with bedbugs, you identify it in less than 30 seconds with only a cursory glance.
    4. You must agree to .38 cpm as a yard spotter.
    5. You agree to never sit with the senior drivers at the picnic.

OK @06driver, let me have it!!!

you will start as a slip seat driver. you will run nc,va,tn,ky,al,ga,fl. you will learn every store in the charlotte metro area first. then you will get on a program. they have a ton of extra openings posted on the wall. so be open about that. after your 6months your running miles and money will get better. after you get on a program. 5/2-5/3 program will pay $2800-$3600 gross bi weelky. 5 day driver makes the most. this is dc strictly pay.
