Right. Burger King probably won't let you work over 40.

But on an hourly basis the burger flipper might be better paid. A driver that works 70 hrs/ wk for 50 weeks out of a year, with an average income of $42K is making about $12/hr.

Try these, but some are out of state. They pay for transportation to get to the school plus hotel room and meals while in school.
I listed them in the order that I personally view them; Jim Palmer being first.
Jim Palmer Trucking - Missoula, Montana
Prime Inc. - Salt Lake City, Utah
    Swift - Pomona, California
    CRST - Pomona, California

Demanding $15, and getting $15 are Two separate things...... Around my home, it's about minimum wage

Some drivers I've come across, don't even deserve minimum wage..... just cuz you can fog a mirror doesn't make you a professional

Yes, I did, But I worked my Butt off. Consider your first year as an apprentice..... cuz you are not really worth much more.
That said.... I love the lifestyle..... seems many want to be home and call it a job ( which it is ) BUT, if all you want is a job, go find one that pays you 45k ++++ with no college, or tech school.... become a plumber, or an electrician, etc.....

If a company pays your school, and you have no experience..... different story..... true, maybe 40k first year.... but consider that paid training as part of your income.... you pay for it one way, or the other....

yeah, i really do not know what they get here. i was following (months ago) the news where the workers were demanding or walking out.

i (think) however, the wage is at least a bit above minimum here.

You guys saying $50,000 your 1st yr is impossible are crazy. I made over $60k my 1st yr with Millis and was home at least 5 days every 2.5 weeks . Hell Millis has a $50,000 yr GUARANTEE for drivers fresh out of their school. Fresh out of school students make .43 a mile with their trainer and get paid for every mile the truck drives (teaming is not mandatory) until they hit 15k miles. Then they get their own truck at .43 a mile. Hell at .43 a mile you dont even need to average 2500miles a week to make $50k a yr...and if OTR you WILL average at least 2500miles a week starting out.

Thanks. I've been looking at Prime but heard you have to pay an administration fee and pay for your permit. Also you don't get paid till you do your first 10k of miles. I've just heard bad stuff about Swift and CRST

Millis doesn't hire in the western states. They run eastern half of USA.
