8.2 - 8.4 figured end of every week.
Figured miles vs gallon by calculater not
Computer on dash. 2018 Volve. 860

Very low idle time running team dedicated route. Maybe 6 hours a week idle time.

TRUCK before was 2015 volvo average mpg for the week around 7.8

Look I get that it's a hard pull to swallow.
So as you asked I'll say it again , your statment that no matter what your not going to be able to achieve better that 6mpg average is wrong.
I've been out here a long time and have had trucks with 6 , 7 and 800 thousand on the clock and have still been able to average above 6.
I've also had trucks that were newer 2013 with a Cummins and just a couple hundred thousand on the clock and it took everything to bearly average slightly more than 6.
My current truck isn't even broke in yet and I'm getting good numbers on fuel.
It has been since day one.

    gentleroger and Oldironfan Thank this.

When I was a company driver with Knight Refrigerated I had a plain Jane, fleet spec Volvo. It had a 9 speed, 3.42 rears, Volvo D13, and No APU, just a bunk heater for winter. My overall average in that truck was 7.3 IFTA, the dash was off slightly at 7.6. I idled when I needed too and was usually around 20-25% idle time. I cruised at 60 mph everywhere coast to coast.

My current truck is spec’d for max MPG and has an APU, new International with A26 motor, super singles, the whole nine yards. I’m up to 8.8 MPG and hopefully I’ll hit 9 eventually. Average loaded weight is 71-76k and run Arkansas to Southeast or Northeast to Midwest back to Arkansas and do it again. Cruise at 60 mph everywhere and don’t spend all my time on the interstate. Running 16% deadhead.

Team drive with almost no idle is constant fuel economy.

I guess many of you are driving on flat land perhaps. Or with the wind?
