Hi all,
Trying to decide what to look at first on my 2012 DT466. Truck starts and runs real rough and sometimes runs fine. No codes have been active until today. We got the following codes
SPN 3976,
SPN 2000
SPN 3981
SPN 5541
And the following is inactive and we had gotten this code for the brake sensor many times over the years.
SPN 597
Any help or where to start would be appreciated.
Another maxforce not running great

You are pulling codes from other modules. The only engine code there is 5541 and 597. They are also missing their FMI codes, or failure mode indicators. 5541 is basically for turbo pressure not reading correctly. Running rough could be anything. If it runs better when warm, you likely need new injectors. Check the injection control regulator plug for worn or spread pins.

Now, I know this is an old thread, but where would the injection control regulator plug be located? -
Thank you for the kind words. I appreciate the positive feedback.
Never mind the red arrow. It's circled in yellow. -
HeavyD!, need some of your expertise... not this thread but i couldn't find anything about the issue i am having in the threads. Anyhow, I have a 2009 maxxforce DT466. The MAP sensor was giving a code, so I replaced it. Thing is, when i replaced it, the pressure sensor was full of gunk and where the sensor plugs into the harness, it had oil in there. Where did the oil come from? Is that coming from the intake? Also, by me having gunk in the intake does that mean that my EGR and/or EGR valve is starting to fail?

The intake on these engine is normally horribly dirty. That is a down side of EGR in general. The intake manifold gets very sooty. The engine also uses a closed crankcase breather in which blowby gases are reintroduced back into the engine at the intake of the turbo. This adds to the mess. I am assuming you are talking about the intake manifold pressure sensor? It should not have oil in the connector, but they do get plugged up from the inside port and should be cleaned or replaced.
