You're right about attitude, and it could quite possibly even change the way you are treated by others at the company.

It's a fine line though. Either there's a point to doing the research or there isn't. You have to assume there's a scale from bad to good, and there is a pretty definite heirarchy here of what they are. I think the research still helps even if the co isn't highly rated, since you know what to look out for and can adjust your expectations accordingly.

Again though, if your primary goal is trying to stay out of trouble, then knowing what they look for is important. But if you also would like to be treated as an adult and part of a team, maybe best to look elsewhere. What you think you deserve in life within reason is important too. If you're going to be broke, people can at least be nice and somewhat forgiving.

Thanks, I'll do well. I just need to jump in, sit down, shut up and Drive. It'll all work out one way or the other. I do believe that it has alot to do with how you start and your own personal attitude.

    Be Well

I tend to listen to drivers and the news I can find about the companies...but reject the driver's personal opinions themselves. I believe you make your own reality in any business when it comes to people; and I'd rather be running on MY assumptions and opinions instead of borrowing from other's negativity or naivete.
I agree with the drivers who say your attitude is what makes it happen. Of course, there are a lot of bottom feeders out there, but you can get past that for the most part, sometimes by waiting. It was no different when I went into construction.
I found that I can almost always win over the "bad" guy if I want to. Kill 'em with kindness of sorts, be where your'e supposed to be, do what you're supposed to do. Things work out by themselves.
Snivel, beeyatch, and whine...you get more of what you think about.

DPAM, congrats on your acceptance at Werner. I too just graduated from a training school and start orientation with Werner 2/13. Seems like everywhere you look in the forums there's nothing but negative posts about the company, but I chose to take it all with a grain of salt and be one of the few to keep a positive attitude knowing that will be the difference maker. Best of luck...
